I fell In love with painting as a college student in Ohio in the mid-1970s.I have been blessed to explore its many wonders over the course of a lifetime. since moving to boulder in 1981, I have mostly made my living teaching creative piano to hundreds of students. still, I have continued to paint and share my creations with my local community.
I mostly work with acrylics and some form of wood. I love the process of discovering what wants to reveal itself through the creative act. So I hold my vision loosely, get to work, and watch for signs of wonder! when the painting is done, I get to share my joy. I do have a penchant for painting most anything that is not moving too fast, especially my clothes, often while I am wearing them. I also work in the digital realm, sometimes taking an acrylic painting and enhancing it with the magical tools of digital technology. For me, it's akin to the difference between playing an acoustic piano and an electronic keyboard. Both are valid forms of expression; the former is just more organic.
I am inspired by nature and all of creation. I seek to facilitate a sense of wonder, connection and healing. through my art.
